Hong Kong, a random destination with my friend for 4D3N.
Made the bookings and there we go.
I really love the fast-paced city and everyone seem to be so efficient.
Hey, that's my walking speed too and I like it.
Clean and organised - words that I would describe Hong Kong.
Check in > Ho Hung Kee Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop > Tom Lee Music Outlet > Lan Kwai Fong > Hollywood Road & Upper Lascar Row/ "Cat Street" > Tai Cheong Bakery > Man Mo Temple > Western Market > Stanley Market > Stanley Waterfront > Stanley Promenade v Murray House > Stanley Plaza > Times Square @ Causeway Bay > leisure street walk around Causeway Bay area
(Michelin-starred Restaurant)
Long queue right after we step out from the restaurant. we were very lucky to dine over there right away without having the need to queue.
The historic Man Mo Temple 文武庙 that was built in the 27th year of Emperor Daoguang, Qing Dynasty (1847 A.D.).
上環街市/ 西港城
it's a pretty common thing that you can see pet dogs (no stray dogs at all!) are everywhere and there's even a special spot for 'dog parking'!
that Husky was really a good dog
It was the showroom with crystal glass grand piano!
Street food at late night: 鱼蛋烧卖 Fish balls & dumplings HKD 20 (12 pieces)
Not very fresh and they were quite sticky.
Well, we actually went to 2 music outlets today: Tom Lee Music & Parsons Music, concluded that the books over there were not cheaper than what we can get back in our own country :(
Anyway, it was good that the 2 outlets were just walking distant from our place.
Lin Heung Tea House > St. John's Cathedral > Peak Tramway > Victoria Peak > ... (tbc in next blog entry!)
Yay, I manage to wake up on time early in the morning (perhaps that's the power of my favourite breakfast: dim sum). haha
One thing I realise was that Hong Kong bun outer layer and skin of the dumplings, cheong fun or wonton tend to be real thick. Perhaps that's the original HK style?
So this breakfast cost us HKD $128 in total including chinese tea.
Food was fresh, overall quite nice but the skin was a bit thick for me.. haha
Another michelin-starred restaurant.
St. John's Cathedral, the oldest surviving western ecclesiastical building in HK, the oldest Anglican church in the Far East that was built in 1849. The 2nd church that I've entered besides the Wesley Methodist church in my former high school that was built in 1897.
there was a team of church members doing cleaning job; they were really particular and mindful on that.
It was another world on the peak... And... More details coming up on next blog post!
Cheerio~

Just a random thought and result of prompt act in 10 minutes at the middle of the night:
It looks funny yet handy (ugly, I know).
Stainless in the long run and .. thief-proof. HAHA
It's time to do 숙제 :)

It was a 2 months+ long semester break including CNY holiday.
Just a brief & compendious summary of what I've accomplished in this period:
1. volunteered for OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2013
2. competed in L'Oreal Brandstorm 2013 semifinal
3. had fun while working at outstation
4. rejected a global company's job offer (yet allowed myself to have more time flexibility & chances of learning)
5. worked for few events & enriched my job experiences
6. take up Korean language lesson (my 5th language!)
7. gained more rest finally instead of continuous hectic & busy schedule for years
8. rewarded myself with Ipoh & Hong Kong trip
9. found the charger for my camera after a long long search between M'sia & HK and it's now alive!
10. ultimately, spent more time with my family :)

Having to drag myself out from the bed at 5am+ for my work at 7am is an arduous task, for me.
Alongside with experiencing traffic congestion daily to campus and now even to work, the thought of not applying for work at PJ area in the future were once sprang up from my mind. LOL
Sometimes the massiveness can drive me crazy in the early of the day.
Anyhow, my mood was instantly brightened up upon reaching the working venue.
Familiar voice was heard when I was helping out my colleague.
Hey, that was my former superior, James Y.
Few moments later, I recognised another face that I have not seen for years: Daphne C, my former director.
Not to forget, working onsite at last with Winson who was always been working in the office as well as Ken L, the audio guy.
Ah well, we are all now working in different companies yet same location.
What a coincidence.
Never would I thought of meeting them again as I sorta lost their contact.
We were once working at the same venue, for the same purpose, under same company and I was learning from them.
Glad that they are still able to recognise me after so long.
Another happy & unexpected moment was during my late lunch hour.
Due to the rush for my next destination, I was thinking of grabbing a few pastries or bread for my lunch at one of my favourite bakery & cafe, which happen that near to my onsite location this time.
As tantalising as always (which also made me hard to choose in between), I picked up a full tray of pastries & bread.
When I was about to make my payment at the counter, a man greeted and recommended the cakes to me.
Guess what, it was the Grand Chef of Bonjour Garden - Yukichi Matsubara.
(I thought he was a Malaysian Chinese at the first sight. haha)
That was the awesome moment when you meet the person behind all these scrumptious pastries and breads.
I am such a lucky girl.
Well, there are outlets at Shah Alam, 1 Utama and Kota Damansara.
However, it was really sad that I didn't have my camera along and I was really in a haste.
Will post another blog post regarding the pastries & cakes, at my Food Blog too :D
There was a question from my former boss that struck on me during a schmoose which linger on my mind till now.
I found the answer for that finally!
I wish my judgement is correct and that will be my new career goal.
Thrive for that kit yee!
umm... What a day of surprises.. Awesome possum (^___^)

Trapped in the traffic jam for more than 1 hour, and thus being late for work: my mood was totally ruined in the early morning.
Yet, knowing one thing upon meeting my colleague has changed my mind.
My case was so miniscule after all and I shouldn't be upset about it.
In fact, it made me realise the professionalism that employees should portray and the importance of having first aid kit with you all the time.
My colleague met an accident while he was on the way to workplace.
There were abrasions on his wrist, palm, around cheekbones and the back.
He didn't mention and continue to work till I discovered some of his wounds.
Clean the wound and disinfect immediately sprang up from my mind when I saw this.
Gosh, I was just sorting out my newly-bought stuff for my very own first aid kit yesterday night!
The kit shouldn't be just meant for my St. John duty but I should have brought it with me.
Not the whole thing but in this case, at least some alcohol swabs or antiseptic would help.
Well, I tried to get the first aid kit from the hotel staff but it seems that she doesn't know what is it.
It made me kinda doubt if the hotel prepares for it in the case of emergency.
The wounds were still bleeding after few hours and I know my colleague's pain (especially his injured back) from his expression though he didn't talk about it.
Kept telling me he's okay when I attempted to get at least some antiseptic for him and resume his work - this is the professionalism and responsibility that I salute (though I really don't encourage for such act, am really worried of the infection that one may get).
Sometimes, a petty injury can be detrimental.
Plasters and face shield that I always bring it along with me do not seem suffice...
Ah well, once again, it made me once again to have the urge to pursue for the AFA course.
The only thing that pulls me back is the 60 hours of attachment which is hard for me to commit with my current schedule.

"College...
It's about gaining the knowledge and skills you need to seize
opportunities -- and that includes knowing when to walk away from
something that makes you unhappy." (Robinson H, 2013)
Yeah, I know it was a real tough decision, but I have decided to walk away.
This reminded me of a keyword that my former employer who elucidated me upon lending me his ears & time. Thanks Nigel.
"College, if you're lucky enough to get there, is really about figuring
out your friends and your values as well as your dreams for the future.
Nobody -- well, almost nobody -- finds a top-paying position right out
of college. Most of us have to pay our dues and climb a dozen different
career ladders before we find one that has rungs we can reach -- and a
place at the top with a view that suits us. If you land that seemingly
"perfect" job with a salary worth boasting about, but then you hate it
and are afraid to quit, your wings are clipped. That "safe" job will
kill your creativity, drown your enthusiasm, and smother your ability to
get up in the morning with a bounce in your step. Why stay?" (Robinson H., 2013)
Exactly, I just turned down a job offer in a global company. Yes, it's not that I am well-off but no regret and I am happy. Thanks to the enlightenment from a friend of mine.
"When you quit a job, any job, it can be terrifying. But it's also
exhilarating, as you open yourself to new possibilities. So go ahead.
Take the risk. Quit that job, if you hate it. You might surprise
yourself." (Robinson H,. 2013)
True. There is no best job in the world but the job that best suits you. I really love to explore and expose myself to new things. "It is alright when you have to take longer route to reach your destination, don't give up." That was what my dearest mentor, Pn. Leong told few years back then when I visit her upon graduate.
And, the phrase: Take the risk, reminded me of another awesome boss of mine - Rafeek who shared his experience with us.
Okay, ignore the inappropriate referencing style but that are the highlights that I think worth pondering upon reading the article: Why I Told My Daughter To Quit Her Job by Holly Ronbinson. Cheerio!
