Deep in the forests lies a land full of magical beings unknown and unseen by humans - "Pixieland". It was home to the Flower and Mud Pixies, until something bad happened.

Centuries ago, a tragic incident landed upon Pixieland. The killer-bees were poisoned by a mysterious pixie that had them attacked and killed many pixies in Pixieland. The King of Pixieland then had all the mud pixies that were in-charged of taking care insects, soil and fertility of the ground to be banned from Pixieland forever. Sad, angry and wronged, the mud pixies swore to revenge.

It is said in a very old prophecy that in times of despair, a pixie of white light will be born. With its power, everything will be possible. Hence both the Government of Pixieland and Mud Pixies searched for the baby. Once found, they will have it kill and obtain its power. The destiny and future of Pixieland lies with Eva - the child with White light. When her parents saw the light she carried with her, they were devastated and heartbroken. Her father who was loyal to his country wanted to obey the King's orders and hand his child to the government. But before he could do so, his wife casted an ancient spell which took her spirit and covered Eva, like a shield, sealing away Eva's white light and powers.

Will Eva find out about her powers? What will Pixieland become? Join Eva on her journey of self-discovery, friendship, love and the power of BELIEVING.

Pixies—the Musical, written by homegrown composer/conductor Jiaying Gan will make its premiere at The Actors Studio in Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur from the 27 – 29 May 2011.

PIXIES is staged as part of Jiaying’s Bachelor of Music Graduation Project at the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing, China. It also serves as a fundraising event for Jiaying, who will be further studying her Masters’ Degree in the States at New York University’s
Tisch School of Arts’ Musical Theatre Writing Graduate Program.

“Pixies” is a fairytale that revolves around Eva, the pixie born without magic in a world of wonders, enchantments and plenty of pixie dusts—Pixieland. There are two tribes in Pixieland, the flower pixies and the mud pixies. Each has their own talent and specialty to keep Pixieland up and running. But thousands of years ago, a horrible accident occurred and the misunderstood mud pixies were driven and banned from ever entering Pixieland again. Raged, they swore that one day they would return and claim Pixieland as theirs. Eva dreams to be like her friends, to have powers and be just as special… but no matter how hard she tries, no magic would come to her. With Pixieland in trouble, Eva learned the true secret of her identity and that the destiny of Pixieland lies in her hands. As she stumbles along the way, Eva discovers that when you truly believe, magical things can happen.

The production team, casts and crew of “Pixies” are made of students, friends and family who volunteers to participate in this non-profit, exhilarating, heart-warming fairytale in support of the arts.

This is it!

Featuring 57 players, Russian Roulette Concert, the 1st debut by Taylor’s University Symphony Orchestra was held successfully.
Guess what, there were 1000 seats prepared.
From what we've seen, it was FULL HOUSE!!
The president/ conductor, Sunny was once told me it was his dream to hold a concert before he graduates in this May after years of striving to establish the club and getting a lump sum of $ from Taylor’s to buy the instruments which was really not eaasy!
I guess it’s the dream of every founder of the club!

Sunny & I

Of course, it was always my dream to join orchestra though I’m already in KLPac Symphonic Band!
This is 1 of the reasons why do I learn flute as my minor instrument!

Speaking of the preparation of this concert, I really appreciate my musician friends who lend me a big hand when I was looking for musicians & rare instrument such as tuba to support and enhance the orchestra at the very last minute.
I never knew the music can be so great with the existence of tuba when Mr. Yeap kept on saying the missing of tuba!
It do touched our heart when tubas were played together with us :)
Some of them spent loads of time, effort and $ to come all the way long to help us and play in the orchestra!
Seriously, I was so desperate looking for tuba and tuba players.

heroes of the TUSO!

Patrick, Chris, Richard & WTian was just in time to solve our problem ^^
Many thanks to Patrick (tuba), Chris (tuba), Richard (alto sax), WTian (french horn), SFen (clarinet) & CErn (flute)!!
Besides, I’d like to thank Issac, WLeong, SYeu, YWei, WBing & Brian for guiding & assisting J
Thank you all!

Well, though this concert wasn’t prepared for long at all, quite a rush one I suppose but it was totally awesome!
There were actually many pro players in the team to make this a success.
Round applause to all of them!
It was such a great pleasure to get to know many new friends in the orchestra, especially the funny & inspiring coach, Mr. Yeap who came all the way from Perak and guided us!!

Flying Forward Together
Yeah right, it's in its 21st year this year!
It's an important event of the year for the 4 main boards of Methodist Boys Secondary School Kuala Lumpur: Prefectorial Board, Board of Information Technology (IT) Brigade, Board of Student Librarians & Sportsman (wonders if it's still existing this year) where certain boards of KL & Selangor secondary schools will be invited to this event.
This is my 3rd time going for this event, most probably my last time as most of my batch of board juniors & brothers are graduating very soon.
It has brought back so much of memories whenever I turned up to this event.
CBD 2009 was an epic!
Neither this year's as well.
It's worth though I skipped my 3 hours classes this time.

can you spot our signature? xD

Chairman of BOSL 2008/2009 caught in the act! :P

did you see what I saw?

Somehow this time was full of musical performances......
Anyhow, EKein + Joel's performance was good.
I've got to watch your performance on stage though can't play with you together years ago.
Haha...

the last performers!

the supporters... umm.. Monkeys' Boys School, no?  haha

The event ended with Water Game.
But yes, we seniors left earlier out of hunger.. haha.
We headed to Bar B Q Plaza @ Times Square with CLeong, CWay, Dickson, YYang, KYoong, CHaur, BTek, TSFG & Ruenn.

 Before...

After... ..... OMG, YYang dares to taste it D:

A memorable place since 3 years ago.
We didn't eat all together since years ago.
Of course, there were lists of epic words throughout the day.
Buffet, glass, 自由餐,自助餐,南北大道, wet... and the list goes on.
ROFL.
Anyway, it's such a great pleasure of meeting old friends and dear juniors again...
Would there be such a gathering next time?

Not to forget, thanks CWay for sending us :)

To Japan We Care!

The 4 hours + interval of our classes on Friday was indeed a draggy one...
Hence, Bethany & I went to Sunway Pyramid to have our brunch...
Ah ha, we were the first customer of The Manhattan Fish Market of the day! xD
Of course, we fully-utilized our privilege as a student by using our student card. heh

After that, something caught our attention when we were window-shopping after brunch.
Yes, it was the origami cranes for Japan!!

I don't really know how to fold origami cranes to be honest, but I was lucky to have Bethany with me and she taught me how to fold!
Thanks Bethany :)
Here's our handicraft xD

Well, it's in conjunction with the To Japan We Care campaign by Sunway Group.
According to a well-known Japanese legend, a thousand origami cranes will make wishes come true and the messages written on the wings will reach the desired person.
So people, let's fold more than a thousand origami cranes to share their morale support for Japan starting this weekend til mid-April @ Sunway Giza in Kota Damansara, Sunway Pyramid in Subang Jaya & Sunway Carnival in Penang. For Taylor's University students, there were actually a campaign running in this week.
Origami papers and instructions are provided FREE OF CHARGE!
Yes, for every paper crane received, the Bezos Family Foundation will donate $2 to Architecture for Humanity in support of Japanese rebuilding efforts!!
And, this initiative is supported by the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL)!

Taylor's University
1st day count: 256 paper cranes
2nd day count: 9246 & still counting...

Umm... Another way that we can contribute in rebuilding of Japan!
Lets do our part peeps :)

till then, headed back to my high school, MBSSKL for 21st Combined Boards' Day :)

Yeah, I always admire my friends who have their photo blogs updated with their dslr-captured awesome photos :)

why are there so many photos of purple lotus?
the answer is just so simple... xD

Uh... These are random shots taken after paying respect to my ancestors.. (Ching Ming Festival what...)  xD
